Cooperation with universities opens up new opportunities – local customers can be reached more quickly
(Offenau, March 2020) Improved service availability for regional customers and connection to cooperation partners from the university and training sector: AM-Automation is now represented with a branch office in Dortmund.
“In view of demographic change, we expect automated solutions in logistics to continue to gain in importance,” says Jens Christian Schmale, Managing Director of AM-Automation GmbH. In the development of corresponding technologies, Schmale relies, among other things, on close cooperation with partners from teaching and research. “Robotics and control technology play a major role in applied research, and as a company we can contribute a lot of practical knowledge to relevant projects,” says Schmale. The know-how results, among other things, from the experience that AM-Automation has already gained with the integration of customer-specific AutoStore systems in numerous European countries and is continuously expanding.
With the opening of a branch office in Dortmund, AM-Automation now wants to specifically promote the cooperation with university partners. “The Technical University of Dortmund has a high potential of specialized knowledge, in electrical engineering and information technology as well as in logistics,” notes Jens Christian Schmale. In addition, cooperation with the technical school, which is also located in Dortmund, could help to ensure that the demand for skilled personnel grows strongly in the long term.
Last but not least, the regional presence will also benefit AM-Automation’s customers: Service availability for existing customers in the Rhine-Ruhr area will be improved, and potential new customers of AM-Automation will now have a competent point of contact in close proximity.
The Dortmund branch of AM-Automation is located in the district of Oespel in the immediate vicinity of the university and can be reached by phone at 07136-9575671.
