AM Logistic Solutions expands high-racking system from IREKS

July 2021

More storage space for

international bakery ingredients manufacturer

As a supplier for warehouse technology, AM Logistic Solutions has received an order from its customer IREKS for stacker cranes and other components to expand the shipping warehouse. By the end of the year, four new rack aisles will be built in the high-bay warehouse at the company’s headquarters in Kulmbach.

In the immediate vicinity of production, IREKS operates a shipping warehouse designed as a high-bay warehouse for packaged goods. There, mainly grain products in bags and malt products in buckets and canisters are temporarily stored until they are called off for transport. Due to the steadily increasing demand, the specialty manufacturer is now expanding its automated high-bay warehouse.

For the expansion, AM Logistic Solutions is supplying components of the same type throughout as in the existing warehouse areas: four storage and retrieval machines, conveyor technology for storage and retrieval, and the technology for their control. Here, the single-bearing stitch is arranged on a five-meter-high stage. The transfer of retrieved pallets takes place on roller conveyor technology, which is connected to the existing system. For integration into the existing conveyor system, AM Logistic Solutions is working with IREKS’ long-time general contractor, which has also automated large areas of production.

AM Logistic Solutions had also already delivered eight stacker cranes with the associated control system for the first warehouse section in 2017.
