How AutoStore works
Conventional storage systems require space for walkways and driveways. The AutoStore system, on the other hand, works with a grid structure that saves this space and uses the entire available space. The AutoStore robots travel along the top of the grid at up to four metres per second, storing and retrieving the totes.
Picking and connection to the existing intralogistics takes place at the workstations.
The controller forms the interface for the internal data flow and provides fast access to inventory data in cooperation with any WMS software.
Grid
The AutoStore grid is a modular grid. Since it is a prefabricated construction, warehouses can be erected in record time – frequently, it takes only one to three months from construction start to commissioning. During operations, AutoStore keeps anticipating needs – it recognizes those containers used most frequently and automatically places them on top of the grid, creating a natural ABC structure.- Height: up to 5,4 m

Robots
Robots are available in black (Black Line) and red (Red Line). They move completely automatically and optimize their travel routes themselves. If batteries are low, robots independently travel to the recharging station. Next to their extremely high speed, robots are characterized by their ability to work even at zero light in absolute darkness and at low temperatures.Red Line:

Controller
AutoStore is a closed system. The controller connects AutoStore to your warehouse management software. Through the integrated interface any WMS may use XML to communicate with AutoStore.- Industrial PC: for all applications
- ASIO: AutoStore In- and Output monitors all safety components and provides power to the Access Points
- ASAP: AutoStore Access Points are the links used for wireless communications between controllers and robots
- UPV: the uninterruptible power supply ensures all movement data are saved even in case of blackout
Work places
Items can be easily transferred into stock or released from stock either manually or by picking robot. Possible interconnections are:- Conveyor Port – for picking and transfer into storage of up to 180 containers per hour
- Swing Port – for picking and transfer into storage above or below the grid. Performance depends on lift height; e.g. at 8m BinLift up to 160 containers per hour
- Carousel Port – for high-performance picking and transfer into storage of up to 400 containers per hour
- AM personalized solution – for optimizing and interconnection of AutoStore containers to existing intralogistics; containers may even leave the system altogether!

Winner of several awards, the Red Line flagship product is especially suitable for low to medium throughput systems. Its versatility and reliability meet the needs of most users and applications.
AutoStore Red Line R5+
The new R5+ robot is based on the well-known AutoStore R5 and can additionally transport 425 mm totes. The R5+ robot is perfect for sports, apparel, footwear, semiconductors and many other applications.

The next evolutionary stage of AutoStore storage robots – B1 Black Line robots
AutoStore Black Line B1
The slim robot, which can accommodate bins up to 425mm with its cavity design, provides additional storage potential.
With individual direct drive motors, the B1 storage robot accelerates 75% faster than its R5 series siblings. As a result, the B1 robot delivers an average of 20% more bins to ports.
24/7 operation thanks to replaceable battery
Instead of having to drive to a charging station, the Black Line B1 has a battery that is replaced within 30 seconds, fully automatically.
With a full battery, the B1 continues its tasks, enabling 24/7 operation.
AutoStore integration
Material flow control with AutoStore and your systems
We support you in connecting AutoStore to the ERP/WMS of your choice, or to our customised WCS software Logics. Logics optimally controls the AutoStore system and even increases the efficiency of the system.
Picking robots in and out of the AutoStore system
We also physically connect AutoStore to your existing intralogistics. For this purpose, we have developed a variety of different robots that retrieve and store any products from AutoStore fully automatically. This happens around the clock, without errors. Our robots are an excellent alternative to manual picking stations.
Rent a Robot – our AutoStore rental program
Autostore rental robot
We are the world’s first distributor to rent out AutoStore robots from € 1,200 per month on a temporary basis in order to be able to selectively increase the performance of your facilities during seasonal peaks.
We are thus fulfilling the long-held wish of our customers to be able to increase the picking performance of their systems for a desired period at seasonal peaks in demand. This includes renting the robots for a minimum period of one month, with a complete package consisting of AutoStore robot, licence fee, maintenance and repair service. Taking over the robot at the end of the rental period is also possible.
